Its season time for Hospitality Industry, though its a business which thrives all round the year however the winter season is when we see it in its full bloom, and that motivates us to bring to you our consolidated analysis of city’s culinary affairs periodically.
I hope all of you had a great Diwali, I too had a great time. This year as my family was travelling in US for annual vacation, work commitments kept me home bound. I used it to spend the Diwali evening at Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah, paying homage to the great saint and lighting the lamp for the well being and prosperity of all. Live qawali added to the magic of the evening.
I visited a wonderful restaurant called Pluck, at the Pullman hotel, Aerocity. It’s a must visit place for its modern take on Indian and European cuisine with chic presentation which only enthralls you without going overboard with any of its elements.
Balance of taste and freshness of ingredients(Herbs plucked from their in-house farm) supported by their fabulous service and crafty cocktails makes it one of the most promising restaurants of the city.
City also saw the latest restaurant by Dinesh Arora and his dedicated team come up beautifully at the centrally located Janpath, It’s called Tourist.
Tourist is beautifully designed and the launch party saw more than 1000 people partying to their hearts content. It would be the talk of the town for sometime now, it was amazing to see how well planned and executed was the launch event at Tourist, which reminded me another restaurant launch in Gurgaon, called Prankster which I attended last month. Prankster is ruling the roost at the moment and has taken the standards of restaurant design to the next level, in its true sense. Must visit these two restaurants and share how you like it.
Talking of Gurgaon, Sec-29 market is as busy as any other market in the country, and freshly brewed beers available at almost every bar in sec-29, makes it a heaven for a beer guzzler like myself, I have been analyzing various places for their beers and some are better than others, while some really need to get their act together. It’s an analysis I will share with you at a later stage, however, let me break the news to you, that Delhi’s legendary chilling spot Boombox cafe has launched its new brewery at Sec-29 market, sandwiched between competition from dockyard and molecule in the same building.
I had the opportunity to attend the book launch of Chef Ranveer Brar’s first book called ‘Come into my kitchen’. I would be reading the book over the weekend however at the event we learnt some great insights into the philosophy of Chef Ranveer and I was highly impressed by the integrity and respect he has for his work and the field we all are stakeholders of, it warms my heart immensely to be around such inspirational people.
At the event, we listened to the panel discussion, where Prof Pushpesh Pant. The legendary food historian was present too. I was in awe, stunned by the deep knowledge he possess. It makes us think whether we are doing enough with our lives, for the amount of knowledge he has gained, i wonder if one life time is enough to achieve that level. But it motivated me enough to learn more and explore with the right mindset and giving respect to the history and facts behind each ingredient, traditions and culture and so much more there is to learn about the culinary world.
With that aim, we work on our next analysis to share with you Asap.
Thanks
